Biography
Begüm Bitir was chosen for a talent program with the aim of educating certain artistic pursuits apart from regular school. There she attended the painting and theatre classes. After applying at the department of Visual Communication Design, she decided to focus on art. Today, Begüm is a trained art historian and a performance artist. She uses digital media for spreading her concept of guerilla performances with the aim of strengthening pressing social topics such as gender equality. Begüm is interested in sociology of art, philosophy of art, conceptual arts, and digital arts. She is labeling herself as a lifelong student.

Project description
In her tutorial, Begüm will focus on how to develop a digital performance from real life experiences. For this purpose she will talk with women in her home country about everyday discrimination. The title of her tutorial quotes the slogan of the Turkish women's movement: 'You Never Walk Alone'. Patriarchy does not stop at digital space. The aim of this tutorial is bridging digital and public spaces by women's stories. To this end, Begüm will combine her own art practice with digital tools that are available to everyone.
